Our Story
Cross Road Baptist Church was founded in 1971, It was replanted in 2019 and renamed Crossroads New Baptist Church.
Church membership skyrocketed since replanting and the Holy Spirit is growing us in ways that only He can do! As our church family continues to grow, each new member plugs into one of our many membership teams and contributes to the growth and ownership of the church. God is using and growing us because as members, we are willing to contribute and do our part to grow His Kingdom.
Crossroads is diversified in age and race, loving all people with open arms regardless of their past. Our goal is to welcome people into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and into a new and everlasting life with Him.
If your looking for a fun church that loves to laugh and hangout, then we invite you to come and gather with us. Come and enjoy a cup of coffee, relax and worship to a mix of traditional and contemporary music from our awesome praise team and biblical preaching.
Come meet Jesus at the Crossroads of life, we would love to get to know you!
Meet Our Pastor
Bro. Mike Smith
I do not deserve to be here!
I asked the Lord Jesus into my heart at age 10 to become my Lord and my Savior. I’ll never forget the night it happened. It was a Wednesday night in a small missionary Baptist church in Wiesbaden Germany. That night He sealed me with His Holy Spirit forever.
My dad was a career military man and we moved a lot so I was privileged to see various places in Europe and the U.S. before moving to Arkansas. I was on fire for 5 years preaching to all my friends. At the age of almost 16 we landed in Jacksonville and unbeknownst to me my life was about to change, but not for the better. Two weeks after moving here some of the kids on the street took me out in the woods and got me high. My life changed in one night. Suffice it to say I fell off into the world. After high school I continued my education at various institutions including two years at AR State, got married, and started a family.
I had a great carrier as a computer analyst and although I had my family in church publicly, behind the scenes I was living in the world. I won’t bore you with all details, things I am not proud of, but I would go on to cause much pain and heartache to myself and others as well.
To cut this short, I divorced, I lost my IT career of many years, I was deep off into the world and hit rock bottom. But there came good from this. What the enemy had meant for evil, God used for good. You see I had fallen out of “relationship” with Jesus, but Jesus had never let go of me. Jesus never moved, it was I who moved. I had run about as far as one could run without being 6 feet under and Jesus reached down when I cried out to Him. He rescued me.
I do not deserve anything I have, I am, or I am doing, but everything I now do I do for Him. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me! This Bio is not about me but rather about Him. In my darkest hour Jesus was there and changed my life!
